PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Wilford (ranked 4826 p4p, 16402 weight class) and Emanuel Ruiz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Emanuel Ruiz was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Wilford!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Emanuel Ruiz!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Gwen Towbar and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wilford darts in and clinches Ruiz up against the cage.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

No joy there for Ruiz, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Wilford feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Wilford is looking to pass into half guard but Ruiz pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Ruiz is in guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Ruiz cracks Wilford with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Ruiz immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Wilford is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Ruiz!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Emanuel Ruiz!
