Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jean Luc Picard (ranked 3284 p4p, 3491 weight class) and Karate Sasuke (ranked 405 p4p, 420 weight class). Sasuke is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark. Jean Luc Picard has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

With a record of 14 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Karate Sasuke!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sasuke throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Picard sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Picard scores with a nice head shot.
Picard connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Picard just misses with a punch to the body.
Sasuke misses with a jab, cross combination.
Picard bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Sasuke's head.
We've been informed that Sasuke has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Picard keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Sasuke missing with a left hand there. Picard was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Picard feinted there with a counter leg kick.
Picard throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Sasuke.
Sasuke swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
We've been told by Picard's head coaches at Kalashnikov ELITE MMA Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

and Sasuke counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Picard pushes Sasuke up against the cage in a clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Sasuke misses with a short punch on the inside.
Picard's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Picard lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Sasuke takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Sasuke throws a hook but Picard avoids it easily.

Picard swings for the body but Sasuke moves out of range.

enabling Sasuke to counter with a crisp jab.
Sasuke moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Picard pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Sasuke lands the left hand.
Sasuke stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Jean Luc Picard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sasuke throws a shot to the body.
Picard slips under a jab.
Sasuke on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Picard moves away from the strike by Sasuke.
Sasuke misses the shot to the body.
A slow jab from Sasuke misses its intended target.
A jab from Picard does it's job there.

Sasuke throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
It looked like Picard wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Picard connects with a good right hand that stumbles Sasuke. Sasuke circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

It seemed like Sasuke was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Sasuke throws a shot from downtown. Picard moves away and avoids it.
Picard wants to clinch up but Sasuke keeps it at a distance.
Sasuke has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Picard finds it's way round the side to connect with Sasuke's head.
Sasuke doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Picard scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
A looping hook to the body misses from Sasuke. Picard does a little dance to reset his feet.
Picard is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Sasuke.
Sasuke misses with a straight right.
Picard darts in and clinches Sasuke up against the cage.
Picard lands a right hand.
Picard lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Picard breaks from the clinch.
Picard avoids the body shot from Sasuke.

Picard lands with a hook. Sasuke tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Sasuke looks to score with a jab to the body but Picard is just out of range.
Picard connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Picard takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Sasuke scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Picard doesn't seem bothered though.
Sasuke throws an overhand right that lands on Picard's shoulder, as Picard tries to avoid the shot.

Sasuke has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Picard.
Sasuke moves forwards but Picard connects with a nice, crisp jab.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Sasuke swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Picard wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Sasuke's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Picard connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Sasuke scrambles back to his feet.
Sasuke throws a body punch but Picard moves out of range.
Picard throws a big shot that misses.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Sasuke misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Picard.
Sasuke loads up on a big right hand but Picard slips the punch.
Picard connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Sasuke's hands.
Picard connects with a nice looking jab.
Sasuke throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Sasuke throws a hook but Picard blocks it.
Sasuke lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Picard throws a lazy right hand but Sasuke sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Picard is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Sasuke drops his hands momentarily and Picard takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Sasuke throws a sloppy body shot
and Picard makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Sasuke throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Picard sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Picard tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Sasuke bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Sasuke! But no joy.
Sasuke jabs Picard to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Sasuke swings widly with a right hand
and Picard cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Sasuke throws a monster overhand right that drops Picard! Sasuke follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Karate Sasuke!
In his post fight interview, Karate Sasuke gave a big smile as he said 'I've had my fill of weak opponents! Give me a real deal!'.
The defeated Jean Luc Picard had this to say: 'It is possible to commit no mistakes and still lose. That is not weakness, that is life.'.
