Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jaxton Kidd (ranked 2801 p4p, 3415 weight class) and Cillian Murphy (ranked 384 p4p, 445 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Kidd might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to The Greatest. Murphy has chosen Undead as his entrance music. Jaxton Kidd has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jaxton Kidd!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cillian Murphy!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Joseph Jones and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murphy misses with a takedown attempt
letting Kidd counter with a right hand.
We've been hearing reports that Kidd has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Murphy takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Kidd decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Kidd is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Murphy has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Kidd throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Murphy tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Kidd is in Murphy's guard.

Murphy looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Murphy is taking a breather. Kidd says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Kidd is not content to let Murphy control the position.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Murphy is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Kidd sees it coming and defends easily.
Kidd is looking for a sweep. Murphy is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Murphy is looking for submissions but instead, Kidd has regained full guard.
Murphy postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Kidd is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Murphy, into his guard.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Murphy's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Kidd is holding on here and Murphy must be using up a lot of energy. Kidd has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Murphy gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!

Cillian Murphy decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
