Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Odin Ragnarson!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pierre clinches up with Ragnarson and pushes him back against the cage.
Ragnarson is trying to break the clinch but Pierre is controlling him.
A knee to the head by Pierre.
Pierre tries to land a knee to the head but Ragnarson blocks with his arms.
Pierre landing knees to the head.
A frustrated look appears on Ragnarson's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Ragnarson pulls guard effortlessly.
Pierre controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Pierre pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Ragnarson is keeping the position for now.

Pierre avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Pierre's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Pierre has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Ragnarson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Pierre can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Ragnarson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Pierre defends it easily.
Pierre stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ragnarson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Pierre's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Ragnarson holds on and takes a little breather.

Pierre wants to pass the guard but Ragnarson is keeping the position.
Pierre will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Ragnarson controls Pierre momentarily but Pierre frees himself.

Pierre has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Ragnarson controls Pierre momentarily but Pierre frees himself.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Pierre has closed the distance and engaged Ragnarson in a clinch.
Pierre tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Ragnarson misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Pierre has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Ragnarson is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

That was a close round but I would say that Edwin Pierre will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ragnarson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Pierre tries to avoid it but Ragnarson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Pierre to the ground. Pierre escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Pierre closes the distance and pushes Ragnarson back into the cage.
Ragnarson jumps guard but Pierre stands there with Ragnarson around his waist. Ragnarson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ragnarson is looking to stand up but Pierre isn't so interested in that idea.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ragnarson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Pierre gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Ragnarson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Pierre's guard.

Pierre is looking to stand back up but Ragnarson counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Pierre.
Ragnarson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Pierre keeps working.
Pierre knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ragnarson on the ground.

Ragnarson stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Pierre gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Pierre lands an elbow just above Ragnarson 's eye.

Pierre has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Ragnarson is trying to keep an underhook but Pierre manages to get the takedown into half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Pierre seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Ragnarson for as long as he can get away with.
Ragnarson is looking for a sweep. Pierre is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Ragnarson is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Pierre pulls his head out easily.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Ragnarson tries to roll over but Pierre keeps him under control.
