PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between shaka zulu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcus Meyer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think zulu might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to do it. Meyer is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Genesis - Justice. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Meyer swinging wilding here.
zulu drops Meyer with a nice combination! zulu dives into Meyer's guard, looking to finish!

Meyer is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Meyer is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Meyer looking to hit a scissor sweep but zulu is one step ahead there.
zulu is working Meyer over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
zulu won't allow Meyer to sweep him here.
Meyer keeping moving, preventing zulu from controlling successfully.

zulu thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
zulu landing some decent shots from guard.
zulu wants to control from the top but Meyer keeps moving.
zulu passes into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
zulu trying to mount his opponent but Meyer defends it.
zulu has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Meyer is desperately trying to improve his position but zulu has a good base and remains in mount.

zulu is working for a guillotine from mount but Meyer frees his head quite easily.
Meyer in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Meyer swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
Meyer really doesn't want to stay on the ground with zulu. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

zulu breaks from Meyer's wrist control and lands an elbow.
zulu scoring with strikes but Meyer is staying in there.
zulu postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Meyer badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of zulu around the waist but zulu pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! zulu is the winner by TKO! zulu jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
