PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Test One (ranked 4963 p4p, 4947 weight class) and Test Two (ranked 57 p4p, 55 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Test One!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Test Two!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Elvis Blanc and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Two fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with One, pushing him back against the cage.
One lands a left hand.

One manages to break the clinch.
One misses with a takedown attempt - Two sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

One shoots in and bounces Two off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Two manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. One manages to get himself to full guard.

Two throws a big elbow that misses.
One controls Two momentarily but Two frees himself.
Two wants to control from the top but One keeps moving.

That's one minute gone in the round.
One can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Two controls the pace.
Two trying to control the position from guard on top but One is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Two looking to sit in guard and control but One gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

One prevents Two from getting back to his feet.
One stopping the sweep attempt from Two.
Two pulls One in to control the position.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Two is on top in guard.


That's two minutes gone in the round.
One looking to hit a scissor sweep but Two is one step ahead there.
Two wants to stand but One has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
One looking to control.
One wants to improve his position but instead Two has moved into half guard.

Two decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

One instigates a clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Two has had enough of the clinch but One keeps him there for the moment.

One has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Two uses from the top position.
One trying to control the position.
Two would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Two preventing the sweep.
One is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Two works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Two is trying to control the action in half guard but One is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Two not landing any meaningful shots this time.
One wants to control the action here but instead Two manages to pass to full mount!
One is trying to escape the mount.
Two tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
One is looking to get to half guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Test Two will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

One shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Two as he jumps to the side.
Two wants to counter the offense by One and move into the clinch position.
Two shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. One defends it nicely.

Two gets a clinch.
Two tries to pull guard but One won't allow it.
Two can't get the takedown.
Test One has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Test Two.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Two breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

One gets a takedown into half guard.
One prevents Two from improving his position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Two is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of One's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take One's back!

Two has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Two is trying to stick to One's back but One is turning into Two. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Two's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by One.
Two has a closed guard, preventing One from standing up.
Two looking to hit a scissor sweep but One is one step ahead there.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Two looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Two keeping full guard, as One tries to pass.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
One preventing the sweep.
Two has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Two keeping moving, preventing One from controlling successfully.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Two controlling the position.
One trying to control the position from guard on top but Two is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Two escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. One gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Test Two has got the better of the ground game so far.
One being controlled here momentarily.
One advances to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Two looks like he's trying to stand up.
Two works his way to full guard. Good work.
One looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
One stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Two swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
One tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Two swivels and escapes.
One looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Test Two will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's time! One's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

One gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Two counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Two.
One fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Two stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Two wants it to stay on the feet.
It seemed like Two was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
One uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Two.
Two shoots in for a takedown but One shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
One shoots for a takedown but Two saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

One shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Two manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
One trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Two looking to hit a scissor sweep but One is one step ahead there.

That's one minute gone in the round.
One trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
One forces his way into half guard.
Two trying to control here.

One is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Two is looking to get back to is feet but One passes into side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
One working away.
One laying and praying for a moment but Two takes advantage and regains half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. One lands a nice short elbow.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Two is doing well to control the position and prevent One from advancing to side control.
One seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Two does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
One slips a nice elbow through Two's hands, connecting with Two's forehead.
One missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Two is controlling One's position as best he can from this difficult position.
One has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
One trying to control but he's not successful this time.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
One tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

One goes for an armbar but Two turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Two.
Two is pushing down on One's leg trying to pass to half guard. One is fighting to maintain full guard but Two has managed to sneak the leg through.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Two wants to work for an arm triangle but One is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Test One.
I think Two has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
