Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Brendan Lawson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Giancarlo Ferrari!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Joseph Jones and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lawson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ferrari circles away.
A nice combination there by Ferrari.
Ferrari doesn't manage to clinch there - Lawson circles away.
Lawson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Ferrari sneaks out the side door and pushes Lawson away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ferrari fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Lawson.
Ferrari gets caught flat footed, as Lawson shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Lawson drops back looking for a leg! Ferrari is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ferrari manages to kick Lawson off! Lawson jumps back into Ferrari's guard.
Lawson has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Lawson stands and throws Ferrari's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Ferrari tries to buck Lawson off but Lawson is having none of it.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Lawson tries to advance to mount but Ferrari denies him.
Lawson is staying tight to Ferrari's torso, preventing him from escaping.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ferrari tries to buck Lawson off but Lawson is having none of it.
Lawson has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Ferrari is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Lawson yanks on the arm and Ferrari is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Lawson.
