Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Harvey Dent!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lance Boyle!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Eddie Farnsworth and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Boyle tries to keep at a distance but Dent has taken the fight into the clinch.
A nice right hand lands inside from Dent.

Dent breaks from the clinch.

Dent moves into the clinch.
Dent is pressed up against the cage. Boyle has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Dent down to the mat. Dent avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Dent scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Dent slows the pace down in half guard.
Boyle keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Boyle is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Dent pulls his head out easily.
Well, if Dent is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Dent's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Boyle is looking to improve his position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Boyle blocking the ground and pound attempt from Dent.
Dent performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Harvey Dent just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Boyle shoots and misses

and Dent counters by clinching up.
Dent creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Boyle tries for a takedown but Dent manages to get underhooks.
Harvey Dent has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lance Boyle.

Dent breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Boyle shoots in for a takedown but Dent shows good takedown defense.
Boyle lands with a shot to the body.

Dent shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Boyle wants to get back to full guard.
Dent is controlling the pace.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Dent wants to stand up but Boyle is controlling the position.
Dent controlling the pace.
Boyle wants to control but Dent is keeping busy.
Dent wants to free his trapped foot but Boyle is holding on for dear life with his legs.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Boyle is trying to maintain the position but Dent is very close to passing his half guard.
Dent working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Dent perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Dent has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Dent looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Boyle is in trouble now - Dent has advanced to mount!
Dent controlling the pace for now.
Boyle keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

No luck for Boyle with that takedown attempt.
Dent fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Boyle keeps the fight on the outside.

Dent shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Dent was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Dent tries to control but Boyle wriggling away.

Boyle tries to clinch but Dent moves out of range.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Dent shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Dent slows the pace down in half guard.
Dent frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Dent controlling his opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Boyle is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Dent sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Boyle is wriggling around trying to escape.

Dent is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Boyle is surviving well by controlling Dent's body position as best he can.
Boyle is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Dent content just to control the position here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Dent is working for a guillotine from mount but Boyle frees his head quite easily.
A nice elbow there by Dent.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Boyle wants to control but Dent is having none of it.
Boyle is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Dent tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Harvey Dent dominated that second round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!



Dent forces Boyle back against the cage and clinches.
Dent works on Boyle's body with a couple of short punches.

Dent lands a takedown into guard.
Dent cracks Boyle with a solid left hand.
Dent looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Dent stops Boyle from standing up.

Boyle is working an open guard so Dent takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Dent tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Boyle swivels and escapes.
Boyle takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Boyle misses with a takedown attempt

and Dent counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Dent decides to stand and escape the position.

Dent drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Dent is staying tight to Boyle's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Dent has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Boyle!
Dent looking to control and managing it successfully.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Harvey Dent just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Dent shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Dent showed some decent athleticism there.
Dent tries to pass the half guard into mount. Boyle knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Boyle tries to get to full guard but Dent has control of the leg.

Dent works his way into full mount!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Dent looking to control and managing it successfully.
Boyle really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Dent is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Boyle can do to turn this around?

Harvey Dent is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Dent, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
