Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kendon Martindale (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Simon Belmont (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Martindale might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Who Am I. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Belmont really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Martindale. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Martindale is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Belmont knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Belmont tries to clinch but Martindale moves out of range.

Martindale shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Belmont but Belmont pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Martindale throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Belmont's waist but Belmont gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Martindale off to one side.
The fight stays on the outside here - Belmont looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Belmont throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Martindale blocks it with crossed arms.

Martindale has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Belmont has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Even with his hooks in, Martindale manages to miss with strikes from the back.
The referee is taking a good look at Belmont as he is on the wrong end of some big shots from Martindale!

Belmont is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Martindale gets his way!

Martindale has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Martindale has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Belmont! Can he survive? No! He's out! Martindale gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
