The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maitonaama scores with a jab. Jay acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Maitonaama misses with a lunging right hand
and Jay counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Maitonaama swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Jay.

Maitonaama pushes Jay up against the cage in a clinch.
Maitonaama lands a shot to the body.
Maitonaama is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Jay is defending well.
A frustrated look appears on Jay's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Jay has had enough of the clinch but Maitonaama keeps him there for the moment.

Maitonaama throws a body punch but Jay moves out of range.
Jay was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Maitonaama looks to score with a jab to the body but Jay is just out of range.
Jay swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

Maitonaama moves into the clinch successfully.

Jay breaks the clinch.
Maitonaama jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Jay swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jay seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.

Jay was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

and Jay counters with a straight right hand.

Maitonaama is working to tighten his grip on Jay's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Jay has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Maitonaama is really squeezing tight and eventually Jay passes out! Maitonaama breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
