Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Banker Four (ranked 4774 p4p, 3137 weight class) and Mathew Dew (ranked 408 p4p, 301 weight class). Mathew Dew is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Banker Four!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mathew Dew!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Daniel Franklin and Winston Alpacca.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A nice combination there by Four.
Dew needs to keep his hands up - Four had a free shot at his head there.
Dew slips a jab from Four.
Four scores with a crisp jab that stopped Dew in his tracks.
Dew is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Dew misses with a takedown
and Four counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Four throws a body punch but Dew moves out of range.
Dew with the counter takedown but Four avoids it easily.
Four throws a one two combo.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Four misses the shot to the body.
Dew throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Four sees it coming and avoids it easily.
A little feinted left hand from Four on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Four clobbers Dew with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Dew fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Dew fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Banker Four has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mathew Dew.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dew takes one to the side of the head.
Dew takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Dew looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Banker Four is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Dew scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Four has one foot on Dew's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Four throws a lazy right hand but Dew sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Dew moves away from the strike by Four.
Dew takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Four scores with a jab to the jaw.
Banker Four seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dew will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
It looked like Four wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Dew shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Dew with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Four to score with a decent uppercut.
Four lands with a shot to the body.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Four swings for the body but Dew moves out of range.
Four slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Dew slips a jab and a cross from Four.
Dew is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
A telegraphed right hand from Four misses the target.
And Dew tries to counter it with a takedown but Four pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Dew shoots in for a double leg but Four sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Four misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Dew.
Dew is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Four.
Four scores with a sloppy right hand. Dew should have avoided that one.

Dew feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Four pushes Dew off looking to stand but Dew dives back in and keeps control.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Four is trying to stand up here but Dew is controlling him well.
Dew slows the pace down in half guard.
Four knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dew on the ground.
Dew uses his free foot to push down on Four's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Four.
Dew controlling the pace for now.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Dew takes his opponent's back. Perhaps a chance to lock up a rear naked choke here.
Four is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

Dew is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Four is defending well though. Dew let's go of the attempt for now.

Dew sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Four taps out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Mathew Dew!
