The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Atkins slips a jab and a cross from Gastelum.
Gastelum fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Atkins takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

It looks like Johnny Atkins has been cut.
Gastelum throws a body punch but Atkins moves out of range.
Gastelum lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Atkins circles away quickly and effectively.
Robert Gastelum seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Atkins uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Gastelum.
Atkins misses with a takedown attempt - Gastelum sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Gastelum rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Atkins moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
