Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gael Grappler (ranked 2436 p4p, 6182 weight class) and War Path (ranked 358 p4p, 651 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Gael Grappler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, War Path!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Sandra Marshall and Santiago Holmes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Grappler rushes Path and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Grappler lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Path or not.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Grappler.
Path throws a punch but it's blocked by Grappler.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Path.
Path avoids a wild elbow strike from Grappler.

Grappler tightens his grip and picks Path up, before dumping him to the ground. Path manages to land in guard.
Path keeping moving, preventing Grappler from controlling successfully.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Path working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Grappler doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Grappler manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Grappler thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Grappler lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Grappler is working for a kimura but Path is defending it quite comfortably.
Grappler looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Path with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Grappler is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Grappler slips a nice elbow through Path's hands, connecting with Path's forehead.

Grappler has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

Grappler has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Path clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Path is trying to remain composed but Grappler is hammering down strikes to the side of his head.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Oooh a big shot gets through from Grappler. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!
Grappler lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Path hold on?!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Grappler punches Path on the ear.
Grappler lands shots from the back.
Path rolls, trying to escape but Grappler keeps control of the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Grappler is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Path up.
Grappler has Path flattened out and is raining down punches.

Path is rocked!
Grappler lands strikes from the back and Path isn't doing enough to escape the position. The referee steps in to end the fight.
