Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jack Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Buddy Austin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buddy Austin has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jack Brown!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Buddy Austin!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Robert Twigg and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Austin loads up on a big right hand but Brown slips the punch.

Austin bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Brown is looking for a sweep.
Brown managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Austin.
Brown tries to bench press Austin off him but Austin keeps the position.
Austin controls the position from side control.
Brown tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Austin wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
You can see the frustration on Brown's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Brown wants to clinch up but Austin keeps it at a distance.
Austin looks for a takedown but Brown sprawls well.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Brown fails with the takedown

and Austin decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Brown's guard.
Brown has a closed guard, preventing Austin from standing up.
Austin trying to control but Brown is working from the bottom.
Austin postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Brown wants to sweep but no luck.
Austin tries to free his leg and advance position but Brown is retaining full guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Brown with a poor takedown

and Austin counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Austin drops back looking for a leg! Brown is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Brown manages to kick Austin off! Austin jumps back into Brown's guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Brown is trying to keep Austin in close.
Brown is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Austin is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Brown is breathing heavily.
Austin wants to control from the top but Brown keeps moving.

Austin stands up and waves to Brown to follow him.

Austin shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Austin trying to control but Brown is working from the bottom.

Brown wants to sweep but no luck.
Brown could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Austin trying to control but Brown is working from the bottom.

Brown is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Austin wants to control from the top but Brown keeps moving.

Austin stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Brown fails in his attempt to clinch.

Austin feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Austin controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Brown pulls Austin in close to prevent any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Austin is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Austin is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Brown trying to keep a closed guard but Austin is proving a slippery customer.
Austin showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Brown is trying to control the position from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Buddy Austin dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Austin lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Brown!

Brown is working hard here to advance position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Austin tries to control but Brown wriggling away.

Austin is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Brown has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Brown!
Brown might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Austin throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Brown accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Brown is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Brown passes Austin's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Austin looking for submissions off his back.

Austin actively working from the bottom here.
Austin wants to improve his position but Brown is controlling well.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Brown wants to free his trapped foot but Austin is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Brown not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Brown wants to stand up but Austin has a hold of him and won't allow it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Brown not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Brown circles away from the clinch attempt.
Austin shoots for a double leg takedown but Brown sprawls well. He's pushed Austin's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Austin drives through with a takedown into guard.

Austin postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Brown is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Austin, into his guard.
Austin controls Brown momentarily but Brown frees himself.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jack Brown will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Austin drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Austin jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Brown utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Brown keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

and Austin counters with a takedown into side control.

Austin thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Austin is staying tight to Brown's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Austin tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.

Austin tries for a kimura but Brown is defending well.

Austin is looking to take a break and control but Brown is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Brown tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
Brown is looking to improve his position but Austin isn't that keen on the idea.

Austin looking to control but Brown is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Austin has control of Brown's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Brown regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Brown knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Austin on the ground.
Brown wants to hold on but Austin pushes him away.
Austin can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Brown is looking to escape.
Austin sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

And that's the end of the fight!
Buddy Austin comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Austin has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
