Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alberto Aquilani (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gregory Bufford (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gregory Bufford will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Aquilani shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Bufford's guard.

Aquilani drops back looking for a leg! Bufford is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Bufford manages to kick Aquilani off! Aquilani jumps back into Bufford's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Aquilani accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Aquilani gets to his feet. Bufford looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Aquilani gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Bufford tries for a takedown but Aquilani manages to get underhooks.
Bufford goes for a takedown attempt but Aquilani pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Aquilani moves into range and clinches up with Bufford.
Bufford tries to score a body lock takedown but Aquilani shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Alberto Aquilani has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gregory Bufford.
Aquilani is pressed up against the cage. Bufford has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Aquilani down to the mat. Aquilani avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Aquilani scores with a takedown into Bufford's guard.

Bufford looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bufford working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Aquilani doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Aquilani manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Aquilani wants to get up but he can't break Bufford's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Bufford has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Aquilani can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Bufford looks gassed!

Bufford escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Aquilani gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Aquilani scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Aquilani drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Aquilani jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Aquilani is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Aquilani thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Bufford is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Aquilani frees his head nicely. Oh but Bufford has switched to an armbar! Aquilani is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
