The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Finch tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Howard swivels and escapes.
Finch throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Finch shoots in for a takedown but Howard shows good takedown defense.
A big head kick from Howard and Finch is sent sprawling to the canvas!

Howard changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Finch looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Howard wants to stand but Finch is controlling his arm.
Howard is looking to take a break and control but Finch is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Howard tries to score with some ground and pound. Finch controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Finch lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
