PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tall Guy (ranked 2696 p4p, 4314 weight class) and Mahamadu Diarra (ranked 84 p4p, 44 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tall Guy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mahamadu Diarra!
The judges for this bout are Darius Henderson, Skip Squint and Eliza Hachem.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guy looks to score with a jab to the body but Diarra is just out of range.
Diarra takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Jab, jab by Guy - just one landing.
Diarra throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Guy's waist but Guy gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Diarra off to one side.

Guy lands a big head kick that sends Diarra tumbling to the mat! Guy takes a step backwards and waves Diarra back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Mahamadu Diarra has been cut.
Guy avoids the body shot from Diarra.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Diarra tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Guy paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Guy scores with a push kick.
Diarra looks winded!
Guy throws a nice outside leg kick.
Guy feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Diarras jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Guy connects with a body shot that sends Diarra's belly button to the back.
Guy uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Diarra.
Whack! Guy lands a heavy head kick that drops Diarra. The ref tackles Guy to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Diarra was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Tall Guy!
Tall Guy decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
