Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shape Shifter (ranked 1519 p4p, 2178 weight class) and Vinny Corcoran (ranked 227 p4p, 288 weight class). Vinny Corcoran is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Shape Shifter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Vinny Corcoran!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Jonathan Paton and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Corcoran works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Corcoran feints and then cracks Shifter's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Shifter down.
Shifter shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Corcoran pinned against the cage. Corcoran gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Corcoran steps into range and cracks Shifter with a monster punch that buckles his knees! Shifter flops backwards and Corcoran dives into his guard looking to finish!
Corcoran must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Shifter is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Shifter has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Shifter is looking for a triangle but Corcoran pushes his legs off easily.
Corcoran wants to stand but Shifter has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Shifter is on top in guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Corcoran has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Shifter drops back looking for a leg! Corcoran is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Corcoran manages to kick Shifter off! Shifter jumps back into Corcoran's guard.
Shifter has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Corcoran manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Shifter manages to get himself to full guard.
Shifter working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Corcoran doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Corcoran manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Shifter has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Corcoran can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Corcoran is posturing up here but Shifter has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Corcoran tries to roll out but it's too tight and Corcoran has to tap! Slick submission there by Shifter!
