Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sunshine Okafor (ranked 2471 p4p, 3034 weight class) and Malaya Zemlya (ranked 305 p4p, 371 weight class). Okafor comes to the cage accompanied by Bliss. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Okafor lands with a hook. Zemlya tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Zemlya throws a sloppy head kick and Okafor moves out of range easily.
Okafor avoids a punch combination nicely.
Okafor throws a hook but Zemlya avoids it easily.
Zemlya lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Okafor throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Okafor throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Zemlya tries to close the distance and clinch up but Okafor swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Okafor swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
A left and a right from Zemlya both land. Nice combination.
Okafor works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Zemlya connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Okafor throws a body punch but Zemlya moves out of range.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Zemlya! But no joy.

Okafor loads up on a big right hand but Zemlya slips the punch.
Okafor tries a head kick but it misses.
Sunshine Okafor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Zemlya throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Okafor went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Zemlya cracks Okafor with a right hand to the side of the head.
Okafor avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Okafor scores with a nice strike.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Okafor! Zemlya is out on his feet! Okafor rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Zemlya is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Zemlya is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.

After the fight, Sunshine Okafor was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
