Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Toussaint Louvertre (ranked 4682 p4p, 4794 weight class) and Dontavis Blackout (ranked 573 p4p, 581 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Toussaint Louvertre!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Dontavis Blackout!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Ron Honeybunn and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Louvertre fails in his attempt to clinch.

Louvertre tries to keep at a distance but Blackout has taken the fight into the clinch.

Blackout gets control of Louvertre's arms and successfully pulls guard. Blackout will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Louvertre wants to stand but Blackout is controlling his posture from full guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Louvertre wants to control from the top but Blackout keeps moving.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Blackout feints and as Louvertre raises his hands in defense, Blackout changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Louvertre working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Blackout doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Blackout manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Louvertre has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Blackout is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Louvertre wants to stand up but Blackout is controlling him.
Blackout slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Blackout wants to get up but he can't break Louvertre's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Louvertre can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Blackout controls the pace.

Louvertre avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Louvertre wants to control from the top but Blackout keeps moving.
Louvertre won't allow Blackout to get back to his feet.
Blackout really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Louvertre. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Louvertre postures up in Blackout's guard and throws a big left but Blackout blocks it.
Blackout is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Louvertre wants to control from the top but Blackout keeps moving.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Blackout controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Blackout shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Louvertre throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

Blackout gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
A head punch on the inside from Blackout fails to land.

Blackout avoids the elbow strike from Louvertre, against the cage.
Louvertre has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Blackout is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Blackout successfully pulls guard.
Blackout looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Blackout avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Louvertre trying to stand up but can't free himself from Blackout's guard.
Blackout throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Dontavis Blackout showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Louvertre misses with a straight right.
Toussaint Louvertre is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Blackout shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Louvertre throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Blackout's waist but Blackout gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Louvertre off to one side.

Blackout throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Louvertre was covering up waiting for the punch and Blackout finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Louvertre is trying to control the position but Blackout postures up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Louvertre is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Blackout is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Blackout is looking to work some ground and pound but Louvertre has wrist control.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Blackout stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Blackout wants it to stay on the feet.

Blackout shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Blackout tries to pass the half guard into mount. Louvertre knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Louvertre is trying to control but can't.

Blackout is working for a submission of some sort.
Louvertre works his way to full guard. Good work.
Blackout postures up.
Blackout pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Louvertre is keeping the position for now.
Blackout throws a strike but Louvertre rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Blackout has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Louvertre has passed into side control.
Blackout is trying to control Louvertre's posture but Louvertre avoids it.
Blackout is looking to regain half guard here but Louvertre keeps moving and retains side control.

Louvertre tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Louvertre has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Toussaint Louvertre has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Dontavis Blackout is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Dontavis Blackout comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Blackout has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A less than humble Dontavis Blackout misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
