Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Pate Hunt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Peter OBrien!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Chris Saunders and Paul Gruel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
OBrien shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hunt as he jumps to the side.
Hunt bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
OBrien moves in looking to clinch but Hunt pushes him off.
OBrien changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hunt tries to avoid it but OBrien manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hunt to the ground. Hunt escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
OBrien pushes Hunt up against the cage in a clinch.
OBrien lands with a light punch inside.

Pate Hunt has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Peter OBrien.
OBrien ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. OBrien no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Hunt counters with a straight right hand.

and Hunt counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Hunt tries to bum rush OBrien with a series of wild strikes but OBrien uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

and Hunt counters with a three punch combo that has OBrien backing up. OBrien nods at Hunt to acknowledge the strikes.

Hunt has been working on his balance at Briet’s Fight Club, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by OBrien.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Hunt drops down looking for an ankle pick but OBrien pulls his leg out and moves away.
OBrien shoots in looking for a takedown. Hunt tries to sprawl out of it but OBrien keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hunt manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
OBrien closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Hunt swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by OBrien.
A combination from Hunt does no damage.
Hunt steps in with a hook that catches OBrien right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Hunt follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! OBrien looks absolutely devastated.
