PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ze Jabbanator (ranked 6254 p4p, 6655 weight class) and Brian Chu (ranked 640 p4p, 654 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ze Jabbanator!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brian Chu!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Bruno Lombardi and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jabbanator lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

It looks like Brian Chu has been cut.
Jabbanator lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
A looping hook to the body misses from Jabbanator. Chu does a little dance to reset his feet.
Chu is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Jabbanator.
Jabbanator definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Chu moves into range and connects with a jab.

It looked like Jabbanator was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Brian Chu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Chu attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Jabbanator takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Chu lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Jabbanator has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Jabbanator and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Chu tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Chu swings wildly with an uppercut but Jabbanator uses good head movement to avoid it.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Chu throws a hook to the side of Jabbanator's head but Jabbanator sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jabbanator takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

and Jabbanator counters with a three punch combo that has Chu backing up. Chu nods at Jabbanator to acknowledge the strikes.

Chu closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Chu in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.

Brian Chu showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Jabbanator checks a leg kick.
Jabbanator seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

A solid leg kick lands there for Chu.
Jabbanator throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Chu.

Chu has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The crowd cheers as Chu lands an impressive looking overhand right. Jabbanator doesn't seem phased though.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Brian Chu comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Chu has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
