Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Williams!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alphonzo Ball!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams tries a head kick but it misses.
Ball steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Williams.
Williams closes the distance and clinches up with Ball, looking for a takedown. Williams pushes Ball against the cage but Ball circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Williams takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Ball throws a one two combo.
Alphonzo Ball seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ball uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Williams.
We've been hearing reports that Williams has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Ball stuffs the takedown attempt from Williams. Williams gets slowly back to his feet.
Williams uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Ball has time to react.
Ball thumps Williams with a low kick.
Williams looks to land a combination but Ball avoids it well.
Nice defenses there by Ball.
Ball scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Ball steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Williams.

Ball throws a big counter head kick but Williams avoids it with no problem.
Ball thumps Williams with a low kick.
Williams keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Ball uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Williams tries a head kick but it misses.
Ball looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Ball jabs Williams right on the nose. Williams blinks but takes it well.
Ball is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Williams throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Ball scores with a body shot.
Ball tries a head kick but it misses.
Ball changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Williams throws a hook but Ball avoids it easily.
Ball lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Ball.
Alphonzo Ball is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Williams looks to land a left hand but Ball moved out of range nicely.
Ball avoids the head kick by Williams.
A shot to the liver by Ball. Beautiful body shot.
Williams lands a nice shot that snaps Ball's head back.
Ball has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Ball throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Some wild striking there from Ball.
Williams tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Ball defends well and Williams ends up having to push Ball into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for James Williams. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Williams has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Ball is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Ball breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Ball swings for the body but Williams moves out of range.
Ball dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Williams. That did some damage!
Ball leaves Williams with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Ball drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Williams defends it well.
Williams throws a sloppy head kick and Ball moves out of range easily.

Williams shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Ball has momentary wrist control but Williams slips an elbow through the middle.
Williams works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Williams maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Ball could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Williams has cracked it and Ball is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Williams!
