The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Prater shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Prater throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Silva's waist but Silva gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Prater off to one side.
Prater tries to close the distance and clinch but Silva swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Silva moves into range and clinches up with Prater.
Silva changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Prater fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Silva throws a sloppy head kick

and Prater counters with a single leg into guard. Silva didn't expect that.

Prater is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Silva sees it coming and defends easily.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Prater rushes Silva and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Prater is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Prater tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Silva just stands there and leans against the cage.

and Prater counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Prater.
Prater is looking to advance position but Silva has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Prater tries to lock up and control but Silva gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Silva takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Silva working some short elbows here. He postures up to throw some more ground and pound but Prater slips a leg through to get back to half guard. Nice work.
Prater is looking for a sweep. Silva is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Silva looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Silva is pressing down on Prater's thigh, looking to free his foot. Prater is holding on for now.

Nice sprawl there from Silva as Prater shoots in.

Prater closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Prater lands in his opponent's guard.
Prater would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Silva manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Prater manages to get himself to full guard.
Silva stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Prater swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Prater moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Silva has worked his arm free - good work by Silva!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Silva gets back to half guard.

Prater ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Prater no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
