The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rabbitte dips to his left and cracks Xe with an uppercut!

It looks like Professor Xe has been cut.
Rabbitte lands with a slapping head kick.

Rabbitte moves into the clinch successfully.
Rabbitte gets underhooks to prevent Xe's takedown attempt.
We've been hearing reports that Xe has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Rabbitte throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Xe throws a big counter combination but Rabbitte scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

and Xe counters with a lovely straight right hand!

It looks like Paul Rabbitte has been cut.
Xe scores with a sloppy right hand. Rabbitte should have avoided that one.
Rabbitte tries a head kick but it misses.
Xe feinted with a counter takedown.
Xe on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Rabbitte avoids a punch combination nicely.
Rabbitte is looking to clinch.
Xe swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Xe throws a looping overhand right but Rabbitte ducks down to avoid it.
Rabbitte scores with a one two! Xe had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
A head kick by Rabbitte misses
and Xe counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Rabbitte scores with a jab. Xe acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A lazy left from Xe finds it's target.

That has opened up Paul Rabbitte's cut even more.
Xe throws a lazy right hand but Rabbitte sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Rabbitte throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Xe's head.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Xe darts in and lands a big hook, right on the button! Rabbitte's legs crumble underneath him as he falls to the canvas! The ref tackles Xe before he gets to land any more shots to his stricken foe.
