Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Anson Jones (ranked 4134 p4p, 4034 weight class) and Sean McCarthy (ranked 138 p4p, 134 weight class). Jones kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is The Big Show. Anson Jones has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jones moves into the clinch.
McCarthy is trying to force a seperation but Jones has the dominant position.

McCarthy manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
McCarthy is looking to stand up but Jones isn't so interested in that idea.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
McCarthy throws a big right hand that misses.

Jones tries to close the distance and clinch up but McCarthy swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Anson Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McCarthy throws a sloppy head kick and Jones moves out of range easily.
Jones shoots in and drives through. McCarthy sprawls well.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Sean McCarthy will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Jones looks to clinch

and McCarthy counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Jones!

McCarthy decides to stand back up.

McCarthy shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Jones manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Jones has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

McCarthy is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Jones is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

McCarthy goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Jones rolls with the submission and now he's on top in McCarthy's guard! Nice work there by Jones!
McCarthy is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

McCarthy looks for the body kick but Jones saw that one coming.

McCarthy fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Jones to the ground. McCarthy is now in Jones's guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Jones is on top in guard.

McCarthy manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jones manages to get himself to full guard.

Jones is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Jones decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Let's hope that McCarthy has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Jones wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by McCarthy.
