The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Evandrus fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jones is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Evandrus on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Evandrus tries to get out of the position.
It looks like Jones might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Evandrus is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Jones pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Evandrus keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Jones's efforts to push away.
Evandrus drops down looking for an ankle pick but Jones pulls his leg out and moves away.
Evandrus shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jones but Jones pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Jones changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Evandrus looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

and Jones counters with a nice double leg into side control. Evandrus won't be happy with that.
