Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mareth Line (ranked 880 p4p, 1244 weight class) and Aly Magomedov (ranked 131 p4p, 179 weight class). Line comes to the cage accompanied by For Heavy Metal we will die!. Magomedov has chosen Aly Intro RUN! as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Line is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Magomedov.
Line moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Magomedov misses with an uppercut
and Line counters with an outside leg kick.
Magomedov tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Line was well out of range. Poor timing from Magomedov.
Line looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Mareth Line seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Magomedov has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Line comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Line uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Magomedov.

Magomedov closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Line bucks up and tries to throw Magomedov off but instead Magomedov has got his back!

Magomedov has the hooks in. Line is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Magomedov is punishing Line with some ground and pound.
Magomedov just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Magomedov lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Magomedov.
I really don't envy Line right now.

Magomedov is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Line has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

A looping hook to the body misses from Line. Magomedov does a little dance to reset his feet.
Line takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Magomedov jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Magomedov dives in for a single leg takedown but Line sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Line is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Magomedov shoots in for a takedown but Line shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Magomedov shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Line manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Well, if Magomedov is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
