Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Zdravko Zdravkov (ranked 3288 p4p, 954 weight class) and Rodney Alcala (ranked 446 p4p, 140 weight class). Alcala is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Leonard Cohen - Everybody Knows. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 4 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Zdravko Zdravkov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Rodney Alcala!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Percy O'Donnell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alcala fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Zdravkov manages to avoid it.
Alcala lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

It looks like Zdravko Zdravkov has been cut.
Zdravkov throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Alcala rushes Zdravkov and presses him up against the cage.
Alcala fails to pull guard.

Alcala manages to pull guard.
Alcala utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Zdravkov lands a couple of elbows.
Zdravkov stopping the sweep attempt from Alcala.
Alcala is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Alcala is keen to just control but Zdravkov is a slippery customer.

Alcala is working for a kimura but Zdravkov is defending it quite comfortably.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Zdravkov wants to sweep but no luck.

Alcala wants to control from the top but Zdravkov keeps moving.

Alcala slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Alcala tries to free his leg and advance position but Zdravkov is retaining full guard.
Zdravkov is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Alcala stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Zdravkov swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Alcala is stalling in the full guard.

Alcala tries to free his leg and advance position but Zdravkov is retaining full guard.
Zdravkov manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Alcala manages to get himself to full guard.

Zdravkov has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Zdravkov cracks Alcala with a solid left hand.
Zdravkov connects with a couple of short punches.

Alcala escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Zdravkov gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Alcala looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Zdravkov content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Alcala looking to hit a scissor sweep but Zdravkov is one step ahead there.
Zdravkov lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Zdravkov working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Zdravkov has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Alcala preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Alcala might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Zdravkov haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Alcala in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Zdravkov tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Alcala!

A relieved looking Rodney Alcala thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
