Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rect Umm (ranked 35 p4p, 69 weight class) and Kazuma Kuwabara (ranked 7 p4p, 14 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Kuwabara's choice of entrance music: Kazuma Kuwabara Theme. Kazuma Kuwabara has the eye of the tiger tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kuwabara swings widly with a right hand
and Umm counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Kuwabara avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Kuwabara appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Kuwabara tries to clinch there but Umm circles away.
Kuwabara throws an off balance right hand
and Kuwabara takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Umm swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Kuwabara throws out a counter right but Umm avoids it with no problem.

Umm bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Umm seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
We've been told by Umm's head coaches at London MMA Club that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Umm uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kuwabara.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Umm counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

It looked like Umm wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Kazuma Kuwabara seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kuwabara jabs Umm to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Kuwabara circles away from the clinch attempt.
Umm looks to throw the jab but Kuwabara is out of range.

Kuwabara shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Umm's guard.

Kuwabara drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Umm dives on top into guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
