Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Harry Winston (ranked 1218 p4p, 1492 weight class) and John Lawrence (ranked 177 p4p, 220 weight class). Winston comes to the cage accompanied by The Lost Boy. The crowd seem to be enjoying Lawrence's choice of entrance music: No Surrender. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

With a record of 19 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Lawrence!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Donk. Lawrence catches Winston right on the button with a cross.
Lawrence closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Winston quickly recovers to half guard.
Winston tries to roll over but Lawrence keeps him under control.
Lawrence is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Winston defends it well.
Lawrence wants to take a breather but Winston is having none of it.

Lawrence looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Winston with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Winston slips a straight right by Lawrence.
Lawrence shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Lawrence will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Lawrence throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Winston tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Lawrence is in Winston's guard.
Winston had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Lawrence defends it easily.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lawrence has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

This one could be over very soon! Lawrence goes limp - he's gone! Winston jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
