PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Malcolm Tate (ranked 4133 p4p, 4424 weight class) and Fujiwara Hisamori (ranked 0 p4p, 396 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Fujiwara Hisamori!
The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, David Hoff and Michael Johnstone.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tate has managed to clinch.

Tate pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Hisamori tries to clinch there but Tate circles away.
Hisamori shoots in looking for a takedown. Tate tries to sprawl out of it but Hisamori keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Tate manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Hisamori darts in looking for a takedown but Tate gets double underhooks and turns Hisamori into the cage.
Tate tries to counter with a takedown but Hisamori is quick to defend against it.
Tate shoots for a takedown but Hisamori saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Hisamori tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Tate is looking to advance position but Hisamori won't allow it.

Tate is looking for a kimura but Hisamori is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Tate to get the leverage.
Tate looks to land a strike but Hisamori avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

Tate distracts Hisamori with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Tate is in close to Hisamori's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Tate postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Tate cracks Hisamori with a solid left hand.
Tate chips away with some ground and pound.
Tate distracts Hisamori with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Tate is looking to advance position but Hisamori has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Tate sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Hisamori is keen to just control but Tate is a slippery customer.
Tate is controlling Hisamori's position as best he can from this difficult position.

Tate's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Hisamori stops Tate from getting back to his feet.
Hisamori wants to control but Tate is keeping him busy.
Tate knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hisamori on the ground.
Tate tries to kick Hisamori off but Hisamori keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Tate throws a solid leg kick but Hisamori takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Tate.

Tate shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Hisamori manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hisamori tries to free his leg and advance position but Tate is retaining full guard.

Hisamori seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Tate is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

Fujiwara Hisamori opened up his post fight interview with a scream to camera that he wants a title shot! Whether he deserves the shot will be up to the management of the organization, so I guess he'll have to wait and see.
