Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bira Monstro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Da Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Da Silva has chosen It's a Fight as his entrance music. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bira Monstro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, David Da Silva!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Seu Braga and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monstro fails in his attempt to clinch.

Da Silva fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Monstro, pushing him back against the cage.

Monstro really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Da Silva is trying to control the position but Monstro postures up.

Da Silva has his feet on Monstro's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Bira Monstro seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Da Silva darts in and clinches Monstro up against the cage.

Da Silva tightens his grip and picks Monstro up, before dumping him to the ground. Monstro manages to land in guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Da Silva thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Monstro has a closed guard, preventing Da Silva from standing up.

Monstro will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Monstro thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

and Da Silva counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Monstro's guard now.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

David Da Silva showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
