PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between RaeRae Usman (ranked 3957 p4p, 5007 weight class) and Robert Cap (ranked 506 p4p, 570 weight class). Usman comes to the cage accompanied by Somewhere I belong. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, RaeRae Usman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Robert Cap!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Steve Montenegro and Franklyn Lucas.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Usman lands a jab to the head.
Cap darts in looking for a takedown but Usman gets double underhooks and turns Cap into the cage.

Cap closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Cap wants to work for an arm triangle but Usman is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cap winds up and cracks Usman with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Usman slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Usman working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Cap doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Cap manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Usman is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Cap defends well.
Usman manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Cap manages to get himself to full guard.

Cap is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Cap is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Usman is controlling him.
Usman won't allow Cap to sweep him here.

Cap is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Usman defends well.

Cap has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Usman can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Usman is looking to stand up but Cap won't let him.

Cap had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Usman defends it easily.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Usman would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Usman avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Usman is looking to stand up but Cap won't let him.
Usman stands and throws Cap's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Cap is not content to let Usman control the position.
Cap manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Cap is trying for a kimura here. Usman looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Cap wins by kimura!
