The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Courtial throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Rand stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Rand is defended easily by Courtial.
Courtial throws a series of punches but Rand moves out of range.
Rand misses with a few strikes there.
Danny Rand seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rand shoots in for a takedown but Courtial shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Rand throws a right hand that Courtial ducks under and follows up with a left that Courtial also avoids with ease.
Courtial looks to land a body kick but Rand moved away.
Courtial digs a good body shot into Rand's ribs.
Rand tries to clinch but Courtial moves out of range.
Rand throws a combination that misses
and Courtial counters with a low kick, right behind Rand 's knee.
Courtial throws a push kick but Rand slaps the foot to one side.

and Courtial counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Courtial throws a head kick that Rand semi-blocks.

It looks like Danny Rand has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Courtial scores with a sloppy right hand. Rand should have avoided that one.

Rand is rocked!
Rand throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Rand is still on wobbly legs! Can Courtial finish him?
Courtial throws a nice inside leg kick.

Rand tries to close the distance and clinch but Courtial swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Courtial keeps the fight on the outside.
Rand misses with a wild body shot.
Rand seems to have recovered his senses.
Rand closes this distance looking for a takedown but Courtial circles away.
Courtial has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Godefroy Courtial has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Danny Rand.
Rand wants to clinch.
Rand tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Courtial manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Rand throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Courtial throws a sloppy head kick and Rand moves out of range easily.
Courtial dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Rand is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Courtial throws a counter high kick but Rand was just alert enough to avoid it.
Rand misses with a kick to the body.
Courtial dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Rand. That did some damage!
Courtial lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Rand circles away quickly and effectively.
Courtial darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Rand throws a leg kick
and Courtial cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Rand fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Whack! Courtial lands a heavy head kick that drops Rand. The ref tackles Courtial to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Rand was done.
