Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roy Nelson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zach Dahl (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dahl has chosen Love Me Sexy as his entrance music. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Tiny Johnson and Robert Twigg.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Nelson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Dahl walks away with a smile on his face. Nelson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Nelson swats away the attempt to clinch by Dahl.
Dahl shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Nelson pinned against the cage. Nelson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Dahl throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

Nelson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Dahl parries the strikes from Nelson easily there. Nelson is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Dahl to escape.
Dahl struggling a bit here.
Dahl tries to buck Nelson off but Nelson is having none of it.
Dahl is trying to control Nelson's posture but Nelson avoids it.
The strikes coming from Nelson are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Dahl is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dahl wants to control but Nelson postures up.
Nelson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dahl on the ground.
Nelson is looking to take a break and control but Dahl is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Dahl tries to close the distance and clinch up but Nelson swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Dahl doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Nelson counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Dahl manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Dahl is looking for a triangle but Nelson pushes his legs off easily.

Nelson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dahl swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Nelson is sitting in close to Dahl's body. Dahl has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Nelson is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Nelson is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Dahl.
