The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smo misses with a double jab
and Benn Jr counters with a nice kick to the body.
Smo takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Smo wants to clinch up but Benn Jr keeps it at a distance.
Benn Jr has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Benn Jr throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Benn Jr misses with a straight right.
Benn Jr digs a good hook to Smo's body.
Smo throws a head kick but Benn Jr moves out of range.
Benn Jr appears to be looking for a big counter.
Benn Jr takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Benn Jr connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Benn Jr misses with a few strikes there.
Smo throws a right and a left that both miss.
Smo scores with a decent looking hook.

Smo throws a knee to the head but misses.
Smo is trying to push Benn Jr away but Benn Jr has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Smo jumps guard but Benn Jr stands there with Smo around his waist. Smo gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Benn Jr manages to break the clinch.
Benn Jr lunges at Smo with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Smo's hand.

enabling Benn Jr to counter with a crisp jab.
Smo throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Benn Jr throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Smo stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Joe Smo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Benn Jr throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Smo is rocked!
Benn Jr closes the distance and lands a brutal uppercut that knocks Smo out! We're looking at the replay now - he was out before he hit the floor!
