Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Frankie DeLuna (ranked 3894 p4p, 3097 weight class) and Brendan Lawson (ranked 221 p4p, 187 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Frankie DeLuna!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Brendan Lawson!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Eddie Farnsworth and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lawson tries to score a power double leg takedown but DeLuna sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Lawson somewhat.
Lawson looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Lawson shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches DeLuna napping and manages to drive through into side control!
DeLuna pushes Lawson away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Lawson gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
DeLuna trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Lawson wants to lay and pray for a moment but DeLuna keeps working.
DeLuna is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Lawson has just dragged him back down to the mat.
DeLuna seems a little lost for a moment, as Lawson dominates the positioning.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lawson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. DeLuna knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Lawson looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

DeLuna is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Lawson has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Lawson is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, DeLuna has escaped the position, nice work there.

DeLuna wants to get back to his feet but Lawson is dominant here and he's now got DeLuna's back!

Lawson has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of DeLuna's body.

DeLuna staying busy and making it hard for Lawson to control.

DeLuna is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Lawson gets his way!

Lawson looking to break DeLuna's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. DeLuna remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Lawson will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Lawson goes for a risky armbar from back mount and it's not paid off. DeLuna escapes and is now in half guard on top.
DeLuna wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Lawson uses the opportunity to regain full guard.

DeLuna gets to his feet - Lawson follows without any prompting.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Brendan Lawson dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Lawson throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
DeLuna displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
DeLuna avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Lawson drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
DeLuna is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Lawson is controlling him.

Lawson drops back looking for a leg! DeLuna is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and DeLuna manages to kick Lawson off! Lawson jumps back into DeLuna's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
DeLuna is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Lawson wants to control from the top but DeLuna keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lawson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Lawson content to stall in guard here.

The fighters are working up against the cage. DeLuna manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
DeLuna is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Lawson has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed DeLuna clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

DeLuna is trying to shake Lawson off. He's managed it and has hopped back to his feet! Lawson won't be happy about giving up the dominant position.
Lawson looks for a takedown but DeLuna sprawls well.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Lawson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Lawson is looking for a kimura but DeLuna is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Lawson to get the leverage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
DeLuna wants to get back to his feet.

Lawson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and DeLuna defends it well.
DeLuna is trying to stand.

Lawson is working for a submission of some sort.
DeLuna wants to get back to his feet.
Lawson is looking to take a break and control but DeLuna is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Lawson is trying to work for a kimura but DeLuna is defending well.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Frankie DeLuna will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Lawson dodges the punch combination from DeLuna.
Frankie DeLuna is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Lawson shoots in looking for a takedown. DeLuna tries to sprawl out of it but Lawson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. DeLuna manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
A head kick misses from DeLuna.
Lawson moves out of range of the body kick.
Lawson feints the counter takedown.
Lawson takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Lawson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says DeLuna as he avoids it easily.
Lawson doesn't manage to clinch there - DeLuna circles away.
DeLuna throws a right and a left that both miss.
Lawson darts in looking for a takedown but DeLuna gets double underhooks and turns Lawson into the cage.
Frankie DeLuna has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brendan Lawson.
DeLuna looks to land a body kick but Lawson moved away.

Lawson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Lawson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

DeLuna closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Lawson tries to score a body lock takedown but DeLuna shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Lawson drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
DeLuna tries to break free but Lawson pushes him back against the cage.
Lawson prevents DeLuna from breaking the clinch.
DeLuna wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Lawson has him pressed against the cage.
DeLuna wants to break free but Lawson has control.
DeLuna really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

DeLuna drags the fight down to the ground.
Lawson passes DeLuna's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
DeLuna is trying to stand up here but Lawson is controlling him well.

Lawson wants to take a breather but DeLuna is having none of it.

Lawson is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Lawson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. DeLuna doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Lawson.

Lawson prevents DeLuna from standing back up.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that's the end of the fight!
Frankie DeLuna showed his dominance in that final round.
I think DeLuna has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
