Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chief Walker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Willie Layer!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Aafke Stam and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A solid leg kick lands there for Walker.
Some wild striking there from Walker.
Layer bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Walker throws a big shot that misses.
Walker throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Layer counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Walker misses with a hook from the clinch.
Layer blocks an uppercut.
Layer tries to break free but Walker pushes him back against the cage.
Walker blocking some punches.
Layer wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Walker has him pressed against the cage.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Walker.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Layer.
Walker blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Walker escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A jab from Layer misses.
Walker misses with a lunging right hand
and Walker takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Walker scores with a leg kick.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Layer moves away from the strike by Walker.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Walker scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Layer is rocked!
It looks like Willie Layer has been cut.
Walker throws a head kick that misses.
Layer throws a right and a left that Walker avoids nicely.
Walker steps in with a hook that catches Layer right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Walker follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Layer looks absolutely devastated.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:17 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Chief Walker!
Our winner, Chief Walker, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
