Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Matrix (ranked 3650 p4p, 2737 weight class) and Kambei Shimada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shimada has chosen Seven Samurai as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matrix moves in looking to clinch but Shimada pushes him off.

Shimada forces Matrix back against the cage and clinches.
Shimada stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Shimada lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Shimada lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Matrix backwards.
A shot in the inside from Shimada.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Shimada.
Shimada misses with a punch to the body.
Shimada lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Matrix jumps guard but Shimada stands there with Matrix around his waist. Matrix gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Matrix is trying to break the clinch but Shimada has him pressed against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Matrix tries to pull guard but Shimada won't allow it.
Shimada can't find room to land a body shot as Matrix controls the action.
Shimada lands a left hand.
Shimada is leaning against Matrix and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.

Shimada pushes Matrix back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Matrix working hard to break the clinch.
Still in the clinch, Shimada scores with a nice short uppercut.
Shimada throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Matrixs head.
Matrix drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Matrix. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Shimada lands a body punch.
Matrix is breathing heavily.
Shimada lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Shimada lands a hook that snaps the head of Matrix backwards.
Shimada lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Oh Matrix is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Shimada tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Shimada looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Shimada lands a shot to the body.
Matrix blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Matrix seems to have got his legs back now.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Matrix wants a takedown.
Shimada scores with a nice hook to the head.

Shimada pushes Matrix against the cage. Shimada is working some dirty boxing. Shimada pushes off with a quick right hook! Matrix goes down! Matrix tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Shimada moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:09 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kambei Shimada!
Kambei Shimada got down on his knees post fight and begged the management for a title shot. 'Please, I want that title shot so bad! Give it to me!'
