The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Van Asch misses with a straight right.
Swanson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Swanson lands a jab to Van Asch's midsection.
Van Asch looks to throw the jab but Swanson is out of range.
Swanson throws out a counter right but Van Asch avoids it with no problem.
Swanson lands a head kick. Van Asch smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Swanson lands a nice shot that snaps Van Asch's head back.
Swanson swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Van Asch.
Swanson punishes Van Asch's body with a nice straight punch.
Van Asch has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Blacktalians MMA in the buildup to the fight.
Van Asch keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

and Van Asch counters with a nice body shot.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jacques Swanson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Swanson has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Van Asch finds it's way round the side to connect with Swanson's head.
Swanson lunges at Van Asch with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Van Asch's hand.

and Van Asch makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Swanson really felt that one!

Swanson has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

and Van Asch lands a stunning uppercut that sends Swanson to the mat!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Van Asch uses his free foot to push down on Swanson's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Swanson.
Swanson is still in real trouble! Can Van Asch finish him?

Van Asch has isolated one of Swanson's arms. Swanson looking to fight him off but Van Asch twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
