Coming up we have a super heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Songkom Fairtex (ranked 22517 p4p, 4195 weight class) and Jon Erikson (ranked 128 p4p, 66 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Erikson's choice of entrance music: Gåte - Statt Opp. Songkom Fairtex could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Jon Erikson's chin.

Erikson drops a shoulder and throws a biiiig uppercut that drops Fairtex onto his butt! Fairtex pops straight back to his feet to convince the referee that he's OK to continue.
It looks like Songkom Fairtex has been cut.

Erikson scores a flash knockdown with a right hook that drops Fairtex to his hands and knees! The ref pushes Erikson away as he looks to land an illegal blow. Fairtex got an extra few seconds to recover there, which could have made all the differences as he stumbles back to his feet. The referee looks into his eyes and decides to allow the bout to continue. Can he survive?!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

I was talking to Fairtex's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Erikson connects with a beautiful left hand that drops Fairtex onto his butt! Fairtex bounces straight back up though - he's OK. After the ref checks him out, we're back to the action.

Erikson throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Fairtex stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

With the fighters clinched against the ropes, Erikson creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Erikson breaks the clinch momentarily and cracks Fairtex with a big right hook that drops him to the canvas! Fairtex looks like he might be in big trouble here! The referee has started the count straight away and we're up to 5 already. Fairtex get to one knee - can he make it back to his feet? No, he's flopped back to the mat - he's out - this one is all over!
