Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Roberto Fabinho (ranked 1346 p4p, 1370 weight class) and Kenji Gōtarō (ranked 204 p4p, 205 weight class). Fabinho comes to the cage accompanied by Glowed Up - Kaytranada. Gōtarō has chosen Dare To Be Stupid - Weird Al as his entrance music. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kenji Gōtarō!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Chad Campbell and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fabinho tries to close the distance and clinch but Gōtarō swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Fabinho on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Kenji Gōtarō seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fabinho misses with a straight left.
Gōtarō pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Gōtarō fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Fabinho manages to avoid it.
Fabinho attempts a counter takedown but Gōtarō avoids it well and moves away.

Fabinho fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gōtarō manages to avoid it.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Fabinho wants to work for an arm triangle but Gōtarō is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Fabinho wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gōtarō keeps working.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gōtarō is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Fabinho pulls his head out easily.

Fabinho seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Gōtarō for as long as he can get away with.

Gōtarō felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Gōtarō keeps trying to improve his position.
Gōtarō sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Gōtarō cracks Fabinho with a right hand to the side of the head.

Fabinho drops his hands momentarily and Gōtarō takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Gōtarō connects with a good right hand that stumbles Fabinho. Fabinho circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Fabinho throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Gōtarō tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Fabinho is in Gōtarō's guard.
Fabinho stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gōtarō swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Gōtarō bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Fabinho's guard.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Fabinho is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Gōtarō frees his head nicely. Oh but Fabinho has switched to an armbar! Gōtarō is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
