PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dropkick Flexy (ranked 1396 p4p, 1925 weight class) and Kai Rossiter (ranked 197 p4p, 269 weight class). Flexy comes to the cage accompanied by Big Thing. On his way into the cage it seems that Dropkick Flexy has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Dropkick Flexy seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Flexy takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Flexy will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Flexy moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Flexy fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Rossiter avoids it really well and circles away.
Flexy uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Rossiter.

Flexy closes the distance and pushes Rossiter back into the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rossiter lands a nice shot to the body.
Flexy blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Rossiter tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Flexy's elbow.

Rossiter tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Flexy jumps guard but Rossiter turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Rossiter throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Rossiter lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Flexy backwards.

Flexy jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Rossiter walks away with a smile on his face. Flexy gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Rossiter takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Rossiter throws the kick towards the body but Flexy avoids it.
Rossiter works Flexy's body with a nice hook.

Flexy looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Rossiter is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Flexy.
Rossiter tries a low kick but Flexy avoids it.
Flexy tries to counter with a takedown but Rossiter is quick to defend against it.
Rossiter's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Rossiter duly obliges.

Flexy has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Rossiter.
Flexy moves in looking to clinch but Rossiter pushes him off.
Rossiter looks to throw the jab but Flexy is out of range.
Flexy tries to counter with a takedown but Rossiter is quick to defend against it.
Rossiter throws a jab when Flexy was well out of range.
Rossiter swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Flexy attempts a counter takedown but Rossiter avoids it well and moves away.
Flexy misses with a takedown attempt - Rossiter sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Rossiter gets caught flat footed, as Flexy shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Rossiter can't keep his opponent in guard - Flexy advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Rossiter wants to improve his position but Flexy is controlling well.

Flexy shoots for a takedown but Rossiter saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Flexy walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Rossiter misses with an uppercut.

Flexy displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Rossiter throws out the jab.
Flexy darts in looking for a takedown but Rossiter gets double underhooks and turns Flexy into the cage.

Flexy breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Kai Rossiter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rossiter throws a leg kick

and Flexy counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Rossiter has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
