Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tokugawa Ieyasu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shinji Morisawa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Morisawa has chosen M1dy - Cold Pizza as his entrance music. On his way into the ring it seems that Tokugawa Ieyasu has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Tokugawa Ieyasu seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tokugawa Ieyasu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shinji Morisawa!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Shigeki Sano and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ieyasu looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Morisawa smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Ieyasu tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Morisawa paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Ieyasu moves into the clinch successfully.

Morisawa lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Morisawa looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Ieyasu tries to get to full guard but Morisawa has control of the leg.

Ieyasu looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Morisawa controlling the action here.
Morisawa trying to control from Ieyasu's half guard. Ieyasu has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
Morisawa won't allow Ieyasu to sweep him here.
Morisawa trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Morisawa must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Morisawa feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Morisawa would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Morisawa throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ieyasu works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Morisawa can do anything to dispel that myth.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Ieyasu won't let Morisawa get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Morisawa is in all sorts of trouble here.

Ieyasu throws a series of punches but Morisawa avoids them all with ease.
Ieyasu doesn't manage to clinch there - Morisawa circles away.
Ieyasu is looking to land body kicks.
Ieyasu stuffs the takedown attempt from Morisawa. Morisawa gets slowly back to his feet.

Morisawa closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Morisawa is looking to take a break and control but Ieyasu is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Ieyasu manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Morisawa manages to get himself to full guard.

Morisawa takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Ieyasu checks a leg kick.
Ieyasu misses with a two punch combination.
Tokugawa Ieyasu is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Morisawa has closed the distance and engaged Ieyasu in a clinch.
Ieyasu is looking to break free of the clinch but Morisawa has double underhooks.

Morisawa breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Ieyasu swinging wilding here.
Ieyasu throws a hook but Morisawa blocks it.
Morisawa keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Ieyasu.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Morisawa.
Ieyasu misses with a head kick.
Morisawa tries to close the distance and clinch but Ieyasu swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Ieyasu fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Morisawa manages to avoid it.

Ieyasu takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shinji Morisawa showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And we move into the final round!


Ieyasu fails in his attempt to clinch.
Ieyasu throws a series of punches but Morisawa avoids them all with ease.

Morisawa has closed the distance and engaged Ieyasu in a clinch.
Ieyasu misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Morisawa.
Morisawa drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Ieyasu gets the underhooks and prevents it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Morisawa has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Ieyasu avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Tokugawa Ieyasu has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shinji Morisawa.

Ieyasu pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Morisawa swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Morisawa shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Morisawa sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Morisawa jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Ieyasu is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Ieyasu and Morisawa has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Morisawa takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Morisawa tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Ieyasu is trying to control Morisawa's posture but Morisawa avoids it.
Ieyasu is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Morisawa cracks Ieyasu with a big right hand but Ieyasu just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Morisawa lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Ieyasu down.

Ieyasu parries the strikes from Morisawa easily there. Morisawa is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Ieyasu to escape.

Morisawa wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Ieyasu, who protects the arm well.
Morisawa wants to control but Ieyasu is keeping him busy.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Ieyasu trying to control but Morisawa postures up.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Ieyasu fails to land the takedown.
Morisawa throws a chopping leg kick but Ieyasu manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Morisawa lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Ieyasu fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Morisawa manages to avoid it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Morisawa avoids the head kick by Ieyasu.
Ieyasu rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Morisawa moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Shinji Morisawa is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Morisawa displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Ieyasu throws out the jab.

And that's the end of the fight!
Shinji Morisawa comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Morisawa winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
