Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jacob Cass (ranked 4334 p4p, 5036 weight class) and Damian Sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sanchez has chosen Rainbow in the dark by -DIO as his entrance music. Jacob Cass could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Damian Sanchez's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Damian Sanchez!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Cass.
Sanchez lands with a shot to the body.
Cass shoots in for a takedown but Sanchez shows good takedown defense.
Cass throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sanchez's waist but Sanchez gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Cass off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jacob Cass. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sanchez connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

Cass steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Sanchez. That one must have hurt.
The fighters circle momentarily. Sanchez darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

A looping hook to the body misses from Cass. Sanchez does a little dance to reset his feet.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Sanchez, as that shot connected.
Sanchez connects with a crisp jab.
Sanchez lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Sanchez scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Damian Sanchez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cass has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Sanchez.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Cass with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Sanchez to score with a decent uppercut.
Sanchez sizes up Cass with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Sanchez lands with a slapping head kick.

Cass moves into the clinch successfully.

Cass tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Sanchez avoids it.
Cass is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Sanchez prevents a body shot from Cass.
Cass pushes Sanchez back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Sanchez is trying to break the clinch but Cass is controlling him.

Cass jumps guard and drags Sanchez to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Sanchez wants to control from the top but Cass keeps moving.
Cass trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.

Cass is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Sanchez presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Cass is trying to drag Sanchez to the mat but Sanchez just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Sanchez looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Cass prevents Sanchez from breaking the clinch.

Cass has picked Sanchez up - he's going for a ride! Cass dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Sanchez is in trouble now - Cass has advanced to mount!
Sanchez wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Sanchez should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Cass fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Sanchez wants to control but Cass is having none of it.
Sanchez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cass. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Cass has hold of Sanchez's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Sanchez manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Damian Sanchez dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Cass drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Sanchez throws a good cross that connects.
Jacob Cass is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Cass takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Sanchez dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Cass. That did some damage!
Sanchez moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Sanchez ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Sanchez lands a nice hook to Cass's body. Cass takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Cass gets cracked there but stands up to it.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Cass is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Sanchez is surviving well by controlling Cass's body position as best he can.

Sanchez tries to reverse the position but Cass maintains control.
Sanchez keeps trying to improve his position.
Cass connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Sanchez takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Sanchez tries to hold on but Cass pushes him away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sanchez is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Sanchez is breathing heavily.

Cass jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Sanchez manages to avoid the submission attempt.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Cass is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Sanchez will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Cass cracks Sanchez with a big right hand but Sanchez just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Sanchez throws a head kick that misses.
Sanchez bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Sanchez getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Cass takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Sanchez lands a nice shot to the body.

Cass throws a sloppy head kick
and Sanchez counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Sanchez throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Sanchez has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Pretty Peter's Fight Club. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jacob Cass will probably get the nod.

Cass looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

Cass turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Cass manages to end up in side control.

Sanchez thumps Cass with a low kick.
Cass fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Sanchez avoids it really well and circles away.

Cass shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Sanchez sprawls well. Sanchez wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Cass gets slowly back to his feet.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
