The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scarn throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Payne.
Scarn lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Scarn scores with a crisp jab that stopped Payne in his tracks.
Scarn throws a head kick but Payne moves out of range.
Sloppy strikes from Scarn. Those never looked like landing.
Payne sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Scarn has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Scarn shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Payne is trying to defend but Scarn finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Scarn connects with a nice short shot to Payne's temple.

Michael Scarn decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
