Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Guilherme Godoi (ranked 249 p4p, 97 weight class) and Lucas Barbosa (ranked 30 p4p, 10 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barbosa pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Barbosa catches Godoi with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Barbosa dives in for a single leg takedown but Godoi sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Barbosa shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Godoi as he avoids it easily.
An attempted straight right counter from Godoi misses the target.
Godoi scores with a sloppy right hand. Barbosa should have avoided that one.

It looks like Lucas Barbosa has been cut.
Barbosa moves away from the strike by Godoi.
Barbosa rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Godoi moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Horrible takedown attempt by Barbosa or perhaps it was just good defense by Godoi, which made it look bad.
Godoi went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Guilherme Godoi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lucas Barbosa.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Barbosa ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Godoi misses with a wild body shot.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Barbosa connects with a crisp jab.
Barbosa throws a shot from downtown. Godoi moves away and avoids it.
It looked like Godoi wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Barbosa rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Godoi counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Godoi misses with a looping right.
Godoi takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Barbosa takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Barbosa throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Godoi on the side of the head.

That has opened up Lucas Barbosa's cut even more.

Barbosa changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Godoi looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Barbosa tries for a kimura but Godoi is defending well.

The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

Barbosa has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Godoi is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Barbosa yanks on the arm and Godoi is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Barbosa.
