PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Eddie Bravo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Riley Adams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bravo looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Adams working a defensive guard but Bravo manages to pass into side control anyway.
Bravo just content to control the position.
Adams is not content to let Bravo control the position.
Adams prevents Bravo from moving into mount.
Bravo trying to control the action but Adams is working from the bottom.

Bravo jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Adams is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Adams and Bravo has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Adams is pushing Bravo's head away, looking to escape. Bravo manages to hold on to the position though.

Adams tries to close the distance and clinch but Bravo swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Bravo gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Bravo looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Adams puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Adams is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bravo is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Bravo is refusing to be controlled, as Adams sits in half guard.
Bravo has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Adams is working away from the top position though.

Adams is looking for a kimura but Bravo is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Adams to get the leverage.
Adams is breathing heavily.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Adams lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Bravo has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Bravo and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Adams swats away the attempt to clinch by Bravo.
Bravo misses with a takedown

and Adams decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Bravo's guard.
Adams wants to control from the top but Bravo keeps moving.

Bravo working for submissions but it's allowed Adams to get to half guard.
Bravo is refusing to be controlled, as Adams sits in half guard.

Bravo is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Adams jumps into side control!

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Riley Adams showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Bravo gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.

Adams escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Bravo swats away the attempt to clinch by Adams.

Adams has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Bravo uses from the top position.

Bravo is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Adams is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Bravo can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Adams is looking to escape.
Adams tries to hold on but Bravo postures up.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Bravo is working for a guillotine from mount but Adams frees his head quite easily.

Adams darts in trying to clinch

and Bravo counters with a nice double leg into side control. Adams won't be happy with that.

Bravo tries for a kimura but Adams is defending well.
Adams is trying to get back to half guard.

Bravo thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over.

Bravo tries to advance to mount but Adams instead regains half guard.
Bravo is stalling here. Adams is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Bravo seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Adams has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Bravo is not content to let Adams control the position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Adams decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Adams tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

and Bravo counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Bravo trying to control but Adams is working from the bottom.

Adams had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Bravo is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Adams Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Bravo's back instead.

Adams doesn't have the hooks in and Bravo manages to turn into his guard.
Bravo is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Bravo tries to free his leg and advance position but Adams is retaining full guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Adams wants to improve his position but Bravo is controlling well.
Bravo is nestled in close to Adams, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Bravo is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Bravo wants to lay and pray for a moment but Adams keeps working.

That's time! Bravo's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Adams tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Bravo was well out of range. Poor timing from Adams.

Adams closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Bravo tries to pull guard but Adams won't allow it.
Adams has Bravo pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Bravo manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Adams is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt.

Bravo is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Adams is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
