The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smiff misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Jankens.
Smiff pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

Smiff fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Jankens, pushing him back against the cage.
Jankens fails to pull guard.
Jankens has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Smiff lands a left hand.
Smiff has Jankens pressed against the cage, preventing Jankens from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Jankens creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Smiff lands with a left to the head.

It looks like Hovon Jankens has been cut.
Jankens could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Smiff's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Jankens is trying to force a seperation but Smiff has the dominant position.

Smiff breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
A punch combination from Smiff misses.
Smiff throws a hook but Jankens blocks it.
Jankens tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Smiff defends well and Jankens ends up having to push Smiff into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Jankens jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Smiff walks away with a smile on his face. Jankens gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Smiff looks to land a combination but Jankens avoids it well.
Smiff lands a nice hook to Jankens's body. Jankens takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Jankens is trying hard to land a takedown here. Smiff sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Limit Smiff seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jankens is breathing heavily.
No joy there for Smiff, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Jankens misses with a lunging right hand
and Smiff connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Smiff moves into the clinch.
A nice left hand lands by Smiff.
A frustrated look appears on Jankens's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Smiff throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Jankenss head.
Smiff lands a hook that snaps the head of Jankens backwards.
Smiff lands on the inside with an uppercut.

Smiff is working Jankens over against the cage.
Smiff lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Smiff lands a nice uppercut.

Hovon Jankens's cut is getting worse.
Jankens tries to stall but Smiff uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Smiff breaks from the clinch.

Smiff stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.

Smiff pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Smiff connects with a stiff jab that staggers Jankens - oh and he follows up with a huge uppercut that knocks him out cold! Man, that was brutal!
